Family Program: "Scrap-enger" Hunt

Help us celebrate our brand-new exhibit, "In the Neighborhood," with Michigan Jewish history fun for the whole family!  (Free with museum admission.)

Did you know that many Eastern-European Jewish immigrants got their start in Detroit as peddlers?  Peddlers brought goods and services door to door, often in backpacks or wagons.

Now it's your turn!  Try your hand as a Hastings Street peddler.  Go on a “Scrap-enger” hunt throughout our exhibit, shlep a peddler’s wares, and enjoy making take-home artwork from found objects in our Maker’s Space. Drop in fun for all ages and abilities!
